does the dewalt miterstand hold up?
I read all of the reviews on portable miter saw stands, and I like the tracrac t-3,
http://www.tracrac.com/workstation/workstation.html
and the dewalt dw723,
http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/tool_detail.asp?productID=3150
but it seems like the clamping mechanism for the Dewalt may not be to sturdy, saw it at the local Home Despot, and it seemed like the clamping on the store model had been broken, and I am wondering if this was a return or if the stands where failing in the field as well.
I saw the portamate by HTC (could not find a reference) but it only expands to support 116 inches as opposed to the 192 for the dewalt and the 108 (to the stop) on the Trac rac. It also has a more narrow footprint, but it also is half the price of the other stands…
any thoughts?

I have had four since they came out. I like them and they have proved to be a good stand. I use the "clips" to attach the saw to the stand and to a bracket in my trailer so they get double use. Nothing wrong yet.
I have a buddy with the same stand as Paul ...
he mounts the big dewalt slider ...
nothing but raves for the system.
