I’m finishing an attic room. Many of the tasks are firsts for me.
The current problem: the door frame and the surrounding drywall are not in the same plane, and I don’t know how to adjust the casing to fit.
I installed the door, and it is plumb, but the wall is not plumb.
The drywall protrudes roughly 3/16″ in the upper-left corner, but not at all at the bottom right.
The hinges are on the right and the door opens “in”.
Should I modify the door frame, the casing or the drywall so that the casing sits against the door frame and the drywall for a tight fit?
