I have been looking at installing Anderson Frenchwood Outswing patio doors. My location is coastal Nova Scotia, the exposure is south-southwest. The exterior finish on these doors is different from anything else available here in Nova Scotia, and I’m wondering about how it will stand up. The Anderson rep, of course, says that the finish “is as good as anything else on the market, and can be expected to perform well over an extended period.” Does anyone have experience with these doors in a similar setting?

NS.. i think the Andersen Frenchwood door is superior
but...
i don't like any outswing doors in a coastal location.. i don't think any door that can open is going to give you protection in a coastal enviornment
i also don't like sliding doors in a coastal location... we install them all the time and i always keep my fingers crossed
i always tell my customers the best thing is an inswing door and a storm door on the outside
that being said.. i'd trust the 5 point seal of the And. Frenchwood against any other door on the market
