Here's a little bump for you...
I prefer my Bosch 1594 but then again I have never used either of the ones you are asking about.
On another note, welcome to BT, I saw that you posted the same question twice, give the first post some time to get some responses. Most of the active posters and readers don't get on till the evening and sometimes it can take a couple of days to get several posts on a thread. Also try searching the archives, portable planers have been discussed at length so hit the advanced search button and search portable planers.

I have used th pc and it works fine but the blade in the one I used had a helical blade that looked expensive to sharpen.
I'm very happy with the Bosch electric plane for about $120.00
Thanks to every one for the words and the bump,(whatever thats all about) Ill check the archives and check back later.

The bump is to keep your post near the top so others will see it and respond. Rez be the bump master! I think he gets some dividends directly related to the no. of times he posts.
I have the PC and like it a lot. I dont remember the cutter being that expensive to sharpen, cant remember exactly how much but it must not be all that bad cause it doesnt stick out in my memory.

My bad, I put that "p" in there upsidedown!

Wazza matter with a belt sander?
Or is the door sticking due to weak or slightly pulled hinges? Maybe that's where the problem is?
replacing new slabs in old jambs. I find a planer to be a little more stable and fine tune it with a belt sander if needed.
