Hey all I’ve posted several times on here asking different questions and always gotten good advice. I am getting ready to dormer my house (full dormer with a two story 9×14 addition. I really want to frame this out my self if possible to save money. I would have myself, another carpenter, and maybe 3 laborers. Whats a reasonable amount of time to tear off, frame, sheathe and fascia? I want to give myself a week. I’ll have to tarp the entire house every night until the roof shingles are on. The roof shingles I’m hiring out. How long do you guys think it should take. Myself and the other carpenter are very experienced with several remodels and extensions under our belts. Or do you think its best to sub out the framing just to get it done fast and dry?

"Two weeks....tops"!
Sorry.....couldn't resist a classic line from a classic film.
Honestly though.....if you've done this thing before, you'd have a better idea than any of us would as to what you are capable of.
No reason I can see that you shouldn't be dried in in a week.

I have to know.... What was the film?"With every mistake we must surely be learning"
"The Money Pit" w/Tom Hanks
The Money Pit....no matter what the project.....nor the contractor...when asked "How long will this take?", the response was always "Two weeks".
Running gag throughout the film.
