Need to put double acting hinges on two 15" x 1 3/8 thick interior doors which will be in a single 30" opening.
I've seen small hinges for 'cafe' doors up to 1 1/8 thick. And really heavy spring loaded hinges for double acting exterior doors. But nothing in between.
Any sources?
Are "Soss" type hinges double acting? Sources for sizes to handle 1 3/8 doors?
TIA.
*Soss type hinges are not double action. Try Stanley Works. I don't have their web address handy but they have an on line catalog.
*ive also used stanley hinges, but only for 3/4 thick doors or gates on commercial sales counters. If you cant find them for the thicker doors you may be able to modify the doors so that they will work. I found them at a local cabinet shop, also at home depot.
*McKinney makes a gate spring pivot hinge # 4007RB for 1-1/8" to 2-1/2" doors, (this hinge is for doors less than full ht.). Hinge has a nice adj. spring on the bottom pivot. Doors do not flop back & forth several times before they stop. They also make a horzontal spring pivot hinge # 3001. This is like Stanley's. Have used them both & can not tell much difference. (been several yrs. since used one though). These types of hinges should be a stock item for a commerical hardware supplier.Ron.
