Has anyone here ever installed a pella double storm door. I need to get an idea so I can give a bid.
On this particular storm door it will be installed on an outside cased opening with no exterior door to attach it to. wich is not a problem …..but I’ve never known a pella storm door to come with a threshold…. which isn’t a problem either.
My dilema is Pella doors all come unassembled and she wants both doors to swing out. So, what does the center jamb attach to at the top and bottom of the door if there is a center jamb. Or do the doors latch yo each other with an astrigal on one door. Mabye they have head and foot bolt on one door.
The door is already ordered and her other guy split on her (hope he measured it right).
btw this door is super custom 72″wide by 94″ tall, (I hope) not one to screw up.
Any info would be appreciated

Yes, a head bolt and foot bolt is required. An astragal is applied to the ACTIVE door in this case, it will lap over the most NON-active of the two...be it RH customer, or what lies outside the swing arc..your call.
No one, uses the non active / off handed side after the install, it stays dormant till the piano arrives.

Thanks sphere, I've never had any experience with a Pella dbl. before. Do you know if it will come with its own threshold or will I need to figure that in my bid also?
No, I do not recall. I think you supply the threshold from the factory door set..I mean, it has a recess of 1 1/8'' on the aluminum Jamb set.
Pella shold provide a detail or PDF,,,,for the screen/storms situ,
Bottom line is, determine the most active leaf, and hinge it well, The other will likely be DOORmant.
