*Do you want a renovation or a new construction contract? Try the free Renovation Contract at http://www.ochba.com/ ,it's very good, simple, also has a help file for the homeowner. If you're into commercial, or want a much more detailed contract than the OCHBA contract, contact the Ottawa Construction Association at http://www.oca.ca and ask for a copy of CCDC 2-94 Stipulated Price Contract ($11.00 Can.), or CCDC 3-86 Cost Plus Contract($11.00 Can.), or CCDC 4-98 Unit Price Contract($7.50 Can.). These are heavy duty documents though, not for the average homeowner, but extremely thorough and legally correct in all aspects. As far as new homes go, I've got a contract of my own that I've used in the past, but I've found that people really feel more comfortable with a third party written document, they don't get this nagging feeling that you've weighted the contract against them somehow... so I'm open for suggestions. Don't reinvent the wheel, as they say, find a good contract that somebody else has scrutinized for legal thoroughness, and then add any special clauses of your own if you want.
