Gents … now that I am a convert to the theory of DP Cell I want to try it but I need some help on its installation. Pervious threads in this forum don’t answer my questions — or at least I couldn’t find them if they do exist.
1. Does it matter what grade and class of exterior sheathing is used in a roof or wall that the Cell will be blown against ?
2. What about roofing nails and their perforations against/into the Cell — does it affect cell performance or compromise it (Cell) in any way ?
3. What material (fabric; etc) do you use up under rafters and inside of studs to contain the Cell if its blown in before drywall (in a no poly VDR application) ?
4. OR, should the Cell be blown in after the drywall (using ADA approach) is installed ? If so, how is it done when drywall is in place ?
5. I heard a recent concern that 1’ and 2″ XPS foam board will not hold its shape/may break up when its used as the sheathing because of the pressure of DP Cell applications. How is this defended against ? Is this a problem with drywall as well ?
6. Are there different grades or classes or special specification options, additives; etc, in Cell for different applications ?
Thanks in advance

Tedd,
From what I've read, questions 1,2&6: Apparently not. Question 3: It seems like you'd blow it in after the drywall. They reduce down to pretty small hoses. Question 4: At Fred's web site they show his guys blowing it in from the bottom of the exterior walls and from the attic. Maybe whatever seems easiest. Question 5: I was under the impression that there wasn't a whole lot of pressure, just high velocity air blowing in very few particles at a time to achieve a dense packing.
Of course, I may be wrong,
Dan
