Believe it or not, this is a serious post.
How can I keep away the plague of dragonflies that are surrounding the new house? They leave droppings (little yellow dots) on all the cars and all over the skylights. No kidding, in an full day that I am there the truck windshield will have at least 200 little dots on it and they don’t just wash off with the hose. Disguisting huh?
Any ideas? Large dragonfly swatters? HUGE, neighborhood-sized No Pest Strips?

The thing of it is; dragonflies feed on smaller insects, so they're there because there's a food source. Be careful what you wish for.

Its springtime. Bug hatches are in full swing. The dragonflies will go away. But phil is right. take away the dragonflies and youll have windshields full of bug splatters. Soon birds will be finding those dragonflies and eat them, then youll deal with bird doo-doo all over the place...
nature, gotta love it!
Where are you located? You must have a fairly warm stream or lake nearby. I've never seen dragonflies hatching this early. Not much you can do about them except bring in insect eating birds. Small comfort for you, but they only live four or six weeks or so as flying adults so the large numbers will diminish fairly quickly.
Dragonflies are neat little killing machines in both the larval stages, when then they look kinda like the monster from Alien, and as adults. They feed on mosquito larvae when young and flies and mosquitoes as adults. These they kill and eat by the hundreds. Dragonflies or mosquitoes.
