I am confronted with a situation where I need to put a laminate floor down over a cconcrete slab in a garage that I am finishing off into a familyroom. There is some moisture but no standing water and no history of flooding. The owners want a warm floor. I am worried that the laminate floor with the thick foil face padding will not be warm enough. Just working in there my feet get cold standing on the slab with wool socks in my redwings. has anyone used the dricore panels from he depot? How about putting rigid foam under the laminate floor with the vapor barrier padding?any other ideas?

I think I just read the latest Fine homebuilding and it had a basement finish. Used Eps and double plywood with 1st layer of ply with tapcons.
Looked pretty toasty.

If they want a "warm floor" they will have to pay for putting radiant heat - hydrionic or electric - into that floor
