I have to re-coat my asphalt driveway any recommendations on products to use? The driveway coating products I saw in Home Depot and Lowes were cheap but they didn’t look like they last to long.

That subject has been addressed here on Breaktime a number of different times in the past.
In the event you fail to receive the information you desire, you might find it in the archives.
If you scroll down in the lower left corner of your screen there is a search function that will take you to previous threads dealing with whatever you type in the search bar.
If you type in 'driveway asphalt' 'blacktop', or other keywords of the subject matter you'll get a supply of data from those old threads.

I was at a job the other day and ran into the guys that did my blacktop driveway years ago. They're gonna seal my driveway using a truck they have for that sole purpose. My driveway is probably 75-100' long and it'll probably be around $300.00. They weedwhack the grass around the perimeter and repair spots beforehand. They have this infrared oven that they use to heat the areas that are cracked and it melts back together again. They say the cracked areas will look like new again.
For 300-400 dollars it's probably a better value then going the Home Depot route.

I second you advice...I resealed mydriveway using about 55 gallons of Lowe's's best stuff....has lasted maybe a year and a half. Cost me about 300 bucks.
My folks had their driveway professionally done about 4 years ago...looks better than mine still.
Go with the pro & sit back & watch with a cold one! (BTW my wife did half the work, and it sucked for her!)Jason Pharez Construction

blacktop/asphalt should be resealed every few years... it drys out... cracks... ect...
to do it properly you should clean & route & heat lance the big cracks and they should be sealed/filled first with a hot crack sealer... kinda like hot tar for a roof but after it cools it will not get sticky and track like tar will (hacks will in fact use steep tar cause it's cheaper) this what you see in a hugh big box parking lots the tar lines where the lot has been crack sealed ... which is more important than the seal coating as far as adding life to the lot... water under asphalt... not a good thing
"They have this infrared oven that they use to heat the areas that are cracked and it melts back together again. They say the cracked areas will look like new again."
well yes and no... infrared repairs and pactches are great... but properly done the area is heated raked up new asphalt added heated with the old and then the mix is spread back out and recompacted.... BUT if your area was "aligator cracked" then chances are there is weakness in the base and it will come back.... UNLESS you go all the way down to the base and recompact from there up... but for potholes infrared really helps bond the area around the fill to the new fill material...
SEAL COATING GEM SEAL is pretty national but there are a few others that supply the material to the Pro sealers... they usually have 2 grades.. and a few add mixes last i checked around here seems we were pay'n about $1.45 a gallon but it might have doubled in the last few months for all i know... most good seal guys add sand to the mix or black beauty.. about 3- 5lbs per gallon some guys will try & go up to 10 and then add water to the mix so it will pump... the fines (sand) will fill the small cracks and will add life to your lot or drive.. . always ask if they add water and how much sand per gallon...
some guys spray and some squegee (sp) both work different areas of the country for the most part...
two coats is all but required for a good job no matter how it's put down...
beware lots of bogus asphalt/sealer guys they always have material "left from another job" always want to quote you by the ton... usually have new trucks and equipment but it's all small... 1-2ton dump trucks 1ton rollers ect...
i have craftco hot melt sealers , ride on sealing machines, pumpertanks, rollers, dumptrucks... everything but a laydown machine and i still hire my asphalt work out... unless there just is no one else... hot nasty dirty work.... but see'n a parkingl ot with a flat mat that doesn't hold water and you can't see any seams is like do'n a house full of crown with perfect joints...
btw almost all the wholesale suppliers will sell you sealer if you bring a 55gal drum... and even give you advice on how & when to seal... and you can get a pretty good job done with it... just not one of those things you'd want to do twice...
