Just finished drywalling reno bathroom. I have used galvanized steel corner bead in the past, but now see there are other types on the market – specifically pre-taped metal and vinyl.
Any comments on which type is better to use?

Keecha,
I prefer the steel bead EXCEPT in bathrooms. There I use the white PVC bead, because it will never rust through the surface. I've seen it too many times to take a chance.
Turn down your air if you set the bead with a narrow crown stapler, or it'll blow right through the PVC.

Hi Bill,
Thanks for your prompt reply. I had wondered about the rust eventually showing through as that had happened on the original bead.
Is it better to glue the vinyl to the board or staple it?
3M spray adhesive works well with the vinyl beed.
Just make sure your taping knives aren't too sharp. The vinyl will gouge if you aren't careful.
Speak the truth, or make your peace some other way.
My 2 cents worth...I will never, ever again put up a metal corner bead. Sooner or later the whole edge will be covered with paint chips or some kind of a crack will show up along the edge of the bead vertically.
These new mud-on corners are really nice to work with too. The corner rolling tool does a nice job of evening out the corner bead.
