What might be a good estimate of drywall labor for hanging and taping?
Is it based on sq. ft. of the drywall?
Thanks.

I usually figure $16 to $17 per board. That's 4x12 1/2" rock, limited high work, reasonable # of beads, and includes mud, tape, beads, screews and glue.
*God, I'm high. My estimating programs and another contractor have put it at closer to a buck a square foot.
*Southern NE, 20 to 25 per 12' sheet. Usually split down the middle, half to hang, half to mud.

Central Florida 13-15 hang and tape average job with nothing too tall or complex.

My drywalls subs use this rule of thimb to get in the ballpark: House sq.footage x 4 x .65 Example: 1500 sq ft house (1500 x 4 = 6000) (6000 x 65 cents = $3900). That would include labor and materials to hang, tape, and texture -- ready for paint. That would be on an average house without too much high work, not too cut up with lots of small rooms, etc. Hope that helps.

If I sub whole job, .70 to .90 a sq ft, if I stock it .15 to hang and .30 to tape & texture & prime. avg for new const.
*STEVE,NEED TO BE SPECIFIC IF YOU TALKING ABOUT NEW WORKOR REMODEL. ALLOW FOR TIE INS IF ITS A REMODEL. SMOOTH WALL OR TEXTURE MAKES A BIG DIFFERENCE IN PRICE. DON'T FORGET TO ADD $ FOR CLEAN UP.
