They are expensive but work fantastically well. Nice looking and super quiet. Pay a few bucks more and get the heat pump model and use it all year.

yup, no comparison to window units.
Sanyo is one that works well. One of my customers just got a system. One main unit and up to 4 indoor. Not a cheap install but works great!
They work well but most are intended for a single room, not a whole house. There are multi-zone units that have separate indoor heat exchangers all fed by a single outdoor condenser. Prices for installed systems are crazy high compared to the cost of a window A/C. I saw a 9K BTU window unit at Lowes the other day for $146. The same size ductless will cost $2500 to $3000 with installation.
Yeah I have heard great things about them. For now the Loews unit sounds best. To much on the install for me. Thanks again
easy to install... and cheap if you look to ebay.... 2ton units all day for under $800

I guess I need to look at installing myself for it to make sense Thanks to all
Look on Ebay. You can download the installation manual. Looks like you will need a pro to pull a vaccum on the line. The refrigerant is in the unit and is released after a vaccum is established. They dont have auxillary heat so there is some limit to heating.
