I didn’t want to hijack the other stucco thread, so here it goes. |

This may seem like a silly question, but bear with me… Why the foamboard(polystyrene) between the sheathing and lathe? Why not lathe right on the sheathing? Insulating quality? Bonding? Moisture? Sheathing gaps transmitting through stucco? I’ve never much dealt with stucco, but it’s everywhere out here. I gots to know! |

Used to be it was sheathing, then tarpaper, then lathe and scratch coat.
The foam is for insulation
