IF you are going to use an exterior fire-core gypsom sheeting under your final siding (as I am)
THEN would the order from inside out go: Framing, sheething, felt (barrier), gypsom, siding?
OR: Framing, sheething, gypsom, felt(barrier), siding.
INOTHERWORDS: does the felt (‘tar-paper’) go between the 1/2″ cdx and the gypsom? Or over both the gypsom and the siding … just under the siding.

(B) framing, sheathing, gypsum, felt, siding. keep the gypsum dry. It doesn't offer much to staple to, so don't leave it with just the felt too long.
