I am installing 12 volt lights in a ceiling. Question regards running the wires between the joists in the attic. The transformer will be in the living space but are insulated (non-romex) low voltage wires allowed in the attic? Wires would have have crimped and insulated splices. Do the splices have to take place in a electrical box?
