Question about electrical ground connections in a device box.
Does code (what code) require that grounds that feed thru be crimped, or is wire nutting okay?
If the requirement is for crimping, is the reason to further insure downstream grouding?

Never heard of a requirement for crimping.
Nothing in the Code requires crimping. Wire nuts are fine.
You wouldhave to pig tail in this situation, tho.

Pigtails, for sure. A 'lectrician was trying to convince me Code says you had to crimp grounds to pass rough-in. Maybe it's local?

I have seen the grounds crimped occasionally. The grounds are supposed to be all connected (and nothing else) at rough inspection, and crimping helps assure they'll stay that way. Plus crimping is a little more compact.

Ah. That sound like it.
Thanks!
