The Emergency is that I want to decide as soon as possible as it will affect the order of work.
Bathroom shower replacement that I have mentioned before. Replacing a rotted tile on DW shower with a Sterling 4 piece unit.
In stead of cutting the tile floor I built up the floor where the old shower base had been with 3/4″ subfloor. Had it in and had to remove it to shim for a low spot that was throwing off the shower.
Anyway it when I put it back in it slipped over a bit of thinset sticking out under the tile and when broke of a part of a tile.
With the base in place a strip about 1/2″ wid by 5″ shows. And about 1/2 the width will be covered caulk.
I can just fill the area with grout.
Or I can replace the whole time. I have replacements.
The location is next to the toilet, but the toilet is reseted back about 8″ so it about centered with the bowl.
My feeling is that if I replace the whole tile that there is as much likelyhood of that showing more. And also removing that one tile can lead to cracking anouther one.
Most of doing this is to just clear my thinking.
So I will just fill it with grout unless I hear some strong reasons not to.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
