I’m thinking about getting an emglo 1.5 H.P. airmate compressor. I’ve had good luck with the regular airmate but would like a quieter unit that runs easily in cold weather.I would like to hear from those who have one of these or have used one. Does this unit have a quick recovory time ( 10 -15 sec.)? Is it less noisy than other compressor? Are there any problems with oil-less compressors that I should look out for?

tdu,
Oiless just means that the piston is covered in Teflon. I own a bunch of them, and never had any trouble. Same with oiless nail guns. No problem so far. Cold weather will kill any compressor no matter what they say.
Why does everyone who post here want a "quiet" compressor?
It seems to be a big issue. Are you guys all working in rest homes at 2:00 in the morning?

*I just got the emglo (about 2 mo's ago) I have been using it for finish work (about 2 boxex of nails) - I love it. It does recover very quickly.
*Go to HD and look in the section where the recondioned stuff is. It will be full of air compressors, all oil free. Then ask yourself why they all had to be reconditioned.
*I own both the old style and the new oil less 1 1/2 hp. emglo. I find the new one is only slightly quieter, recovery is quicker, but the weight is more. Great tools though, I like mine alot. Bill
