I’m about to install 9/16, T&G, laminate flooring over a framed (3/4 ply, not concrete) floor. What are the pros and cons of a floating floor installation, where planks are glued to each other over a moisture barrier, apposed to stapeling over a moisture barrier. Does gluing take longer? Is it messy? However, is gluing quieter (less chance of squeaks developing)?
Your thoughts please.
Thank You.

Cons-
Can have a hollow sound and could feel spongy.
Nail down (staple) is firm and doesn't sound "odd".
As far as stapling over a vapor barrier? I have never tried it with a "floating floor" underlayment.
Most "floating floor" installations now are click lock-not the old style of gluing the T&G.
What are the manufacturers recommendations? And is this engineered wood or laminate floor?
