What about on-line sources? Good or bad experiences?

Just put in 900 ft of Kaars (or spelling close to that). Nice stuff-clicklock. Very uniform, fairly thick wear layer. Nice underlayment too. Not cheap.

No, I don't work for Taunton, I'm usually over at Knots on Fine Woodworking. I try to see that folks get answers, mostly about finishing problems.
I have had good luck with Home Legend from home depot.
I bought a scraped elm finish for my wife music room. 16x18. Installed in 2 hours with a click lock system. Best system I have used.
Has been in for a year and it still looks like new!

The only engineered hardwood I have used is the Mirage engineered staple down product. I found it great to work with and it has a great finish.
We used Mirage on our upstairs. The installer said it was one of the best, in terms of installing, he's used. My wife isn't as pleased with it as I am and I thought the Birch would be more durable but I would consider getting more of their flooring. We have ours installed over radiant heat in the 2nd floor.
I had looked at Kahrs also and my wife disliked the finish. Said it looked too much like a laminate.
We purchased ours at a local hardware/flooring store in SK RI and got a very good deal.

Damon's ??? or Rawlings ????Mike Hussein Smith Rhode Island : Design / Build / Repair / Restore
I got it at Damons. They beat everyone elses price (I never did check Arnold's but probably should have) and I could open an account. The floor rep is Bill and he's an easy person to deal with.
I knew what I wanted before I went there talked to Bill who came out to measure.
How goes everything? Do you still have any of the Breakfest 04 gear, my hat is worn out. BTW what's the name of the plasterer you use the one who has the dachshund, I may need to find another home for my two boys.

Everything is going, Just trying to keep my job. They constantly want more while they reduce the number of workers. And they like to tell you what the unemployement rate is.
Anyway, I had a guy from Valley Plumbing and heating stop by to give me an idea on heat pumps for the 1st and 2nd floor. Just waiting for the info.
Hope all is going well with you to.

It was going good until Pedro gave up his second home run.

In the lastest issue of FHB they have an article on hardwood flooring. The installer uses a product called Owens. I tried to find out where to get it but you first have to fill out an info sheet. I did but have yet to get anything back. I'd be interested in seeing that product.

metric roof shingle ???
Mike,
My neighbor across the street from me has lost a couple shingles. He'd like to just patch the areas until he's ready to have the entire roof completely reroofed. Anyway I recomended that he have someone tear off the old and put on the new but I don't know what his money situation is at this time.
Anyway the shingles are 39" 3 tab. Do you have any idea where he could get some? If not what would you recomend?
Thanks KaiserRoo
PS I can't stand this new forum, How about yourself?
If it's just a few shingles, and he's not terribly particular about appearances, any competent roofer should be able to patch in some other shingles cut to fit, or some roll roofing, or some such. (If in fact you can't find matching shingles no way, no how.)
Thanks for the info I'll pass it on to himm when I see him again.

I just recently bought BR-111 flooring for $3.49/SF; usually goes for $6.00/SF. I've installed this brand before; excellent quality.
Ditto the Br-111. I installed a couple of rooms of that, and a couiple of Lumber Liquidators. Night and day difference. The LL product was better than the LL from overseas."Put your creed in your deed." Emerson
"When asked if you can do something, tell'em "Why certainly I can", then get busy and find a way to do it." T. Roosevelt
Ditto ditto on the BR-111. Just did about 500 sq ft of cherry. Looks awesome. Nice finish but you need to keep checking the pieces for tiny splinters. My customer caught a few after it was down.No big deal unless your customer is totally anal.
Stuff was far from cheap. Sumpin like $120 a box.
Only thing I hate is that micro bevel...echhh
