I’m a remodeling contractor who used to roof alot when I first started out but in the last few years I’ve concentrated on other more interesting things. But recently I’ve been approched by some former clients to roof their houses. The jobs are appealing because they are great clients and they are so close to home I could almost walk to work. Since I haven’t roofed for awhile I don’t have up to date pricing. I want to make sure that I don’t overcharge the client or undercharge myself.
So here is the job: 12/12 pitch Gable
1. Tear off 2 layers of asphalt shingles and 1 layer of cedar shingles ($ per sq ft)
2. Sheath entire roof with 7/16 inch OSB ($ per sheet)
3. Install 3 tab 25 yr fiberglass shingles, felt D edge and ice and water shield along eaves ($ per sq, ft.)
4. Completely reflashing a chimney
5. Installing a ridge vent ($ per ln. ft. )
Thanks for any help you can give me.
