I’m used to remodeling basements w/ steel studs , rigid foam…
But, I bought a house w/ a 1/2 finished how does the build sound to you guys ?
Stick framing w/ PT bottom plates 2″ standoff. Paperfaced insulation. Drywall is 1″ off standoff from floor. Area was carpeted and padded previously. But I just pulled it after a small 2″ flood from high water table…
This sound like a solid build ? Is the paper faced going to give me problems ?
After having pulled the bottom 2′ as precaution I pland to put in 2″ rigidfoam and reinstall drywall as before. Flooring is up in the air. We usually put down indoor/outdoor carpet as requested by homeowners. I’m thinking 12″ tiles w/ concrete.
Thanks !
