Enerfoam is a brand that was developed specifically for structural adhesive such as subfloors and sheetrock. It can be messy but it goes a long way and works OK. I prefer another polyurethene adhesive - PL Premium for floors. It stil expands somewaht to cover gaps and voids and is one of the strongest non epoxy adhesives I know of.

So you just spray it on the joist tops and then screw the underlayment down? Does that provide sound/vibration absorption?
Bro-in-law is considering converting his attic to living space. I had been wondering if we couldn't use fanfold or somesuch under the underlayment to absorb sound/vibrations (since the home theater setup would be in the attic and have BR's right below it).
