Does anybody have a sense for how much dimension change to expect from a 41″x96″ sheet of 26g Forest Green flat stock over a change of 140 degrees f. Or, in other words, if that sheet were to be fastened edge and center-of-field into 5/8″ CDX with gasketed wood-grips through 3/16″ oversized holes in the metal, would the install remain mechanically sound? The metal would face due-up, ie. is to cover the level cap on a chimney/chase, and the fasteners would not be overdriven, a bead of Lexel would be run beneath all fasteners and the whole is over Grace Ice and Watershield well applied.
The alternative I’m considering is 90lb. roll roofing (I know- Heaven Forbid) installed over the watershield with laps much deeper than those recommended by the factory.
