I’ve got a poured porch sitting on compressed fill. Naturally the concrete has control/expansion joints. What’s the best way to control cracking in the flagstone?
Should the flagstone be affixed directly to the concrete or should some type of floating membrane be put between the two?
Should i go ahead an put in some control/expansion joints in the flagstone and have the masons put stone up to those lines?

We can imagine something that only exists in our heads, in a form that has no measureable, tangible reality, and make it actually occur in the real world. Where there was nothing, now there is something.
