I’ve been asked to build a set of teak cabs to match a patio table and chairs. It is under a watertight patio cover. I was thinking of building the carcass out of an exterior sanded plywood. I thought of tryin to veneer the end panels but my supplier highly discouraged this. If I glue up solid teak end panels will they hold up? What about the doors. Does teak glue up ok?? I would think it could resist the glue since its so resin laden.?.?
Any suggestions?

If the box exteriors will be painted, or covered in some other way, MDO would work. MDO is medium density overlay.

THe cabinets are going to be teak. No finish other than a yearly treatment of oil.
CW,
As Gene has said MDO can work and there is a product called " Super Plywood " glued up with exterior glue , it's made by http://www.roseburgforestproducts.com . There are a slug of others as well depending on availability.

When you are using MDO or any plywood, be sure you seal the edges and any penetrations well. I have MDO on my pontoon boat that has been in salt water for 18 years. The only spot with any damage at all is around a hole I drilled and did not seal.
How about making the end panels frame & panel, like doors? Not only does it improve stability over a just a flat panel, it also is more visually interesting.
I don't have much experience with teak, but i think it's important to wipe the joints with lacquer thinner to remove any oils before gluing.
I like the idea of the end panels like doors but it still requires some edge glued boards. Laquer thinner on the glue joints also make sense.
I have seen posts on gluing teak over at knots. Wander over there and do a search. Chris
How about some type of floating panels that don't require glue?
