Hello everyone,
We have just about finished restoration on a 1850’s farm house. We need to put on some exterior extension jams on the outside door entrances. Both door entrances are covered pretty good by their porch roofs. We were just wondering..Would MDF be a good candidate for this application? We have full intentions of painting it. Any thoughts or suggestions are certainly welcomed….Thanks in advance!!!!

I figured you'd have a lot of replies by now, but I guess not. As far as MDF for exterior use; NO.
Others will be able to tell you better than me the pros and cons of MDO for exterior use.
*MDO is Medium Density Overlay. It is an exterior material. Do a search of Breaktime and you will turn up several posts on the topic. I have never used it so I don't feel free to comment.
