I have a client that would like me to finish off the exterior walls of a single car garage with 3/4 inch vertical plywood,(moden flat look) wih a 1/2″ revel l between each panel the height is less then 8′ , I was going to rotar out a male female lip to allow for the revel to also sit under the next plywood sheet.
WIll standard G1S exterior plywood after being painted stand up to the weather ???and water . Any other suggestions .

Primed MDO plywood. Not cheap. Paints beautifully.
Don't know what you'll do to keep the new exposed plys good.
And if you start overlapping sheets you'll quickly run into problems with stud layout.
Perhaps a reverse board and batten?

Reverse board and Batten is a great idea 16 on centre is not an issue as there is 1/2 spruce pywood behind with house wrap over.
Thanks George
I'd go with smooth hardipanel.

Looked in to hardie smoth panels was told by the rep that the way to fasten is with roofing nails and paint the heads to match. , Also thought that the 1/4" panels would be wavy if not nailed every 12" or so.
Thanks for the help.

I'd glue them to wide furring strips with polyurethane adhesive, nail at the top and possibly bottom only.
"G1S" is a non-industry standard term invented by Home Depot. Since it's not a standard grade, it's anyone's guess just what it's good for.
Most plywood that's better that an "A" finish is intended for indoor use only.
I would not ever rely upon the box store's 'exterior' claims. Again, since they don't follow industry norms, it's anyone's guess as to what they mean when they say that.
Even for a product (like T-111) that is defined for exterior use, I would STILL prime and paint it for extended exposure to the weather.
