I am installing some exterior window trim which consists of 1×4 with some moulding applied fush with the outside edge to give it a built-up picture frame type look. I am planning to glue and nail the moulding to the 1×4, then prime the entire assembly, cut mitres for the corners and install with glue and biscuits on the mitres. What is the best adhesive to use for this application (Titebond II or something more industrial?). Is this the best approach to achieve this look? I figured having the profile routed would be much more costly than purchasing a stock moulding and gluing up the assembly. Any input would be appreciated.
