what about using the other kind of backer board that is like hardboard?
Try HD. Take the info with you to the pro desk. They can order damn near anything. Will they, who knows? Joe H
Better yet, ask your rep where to get it?

Dave,
I too live on L.I (see my website below). I don't understand. Wonderboard is specifically made for outdoor use. Call the 800 # on the board label.
Then when you use thinset mixed with the additive rather then water seems to me you have a pretty water tight job.
Be well,

It's not who's right, it's who's left ~ http://CLIFFORDRENOVATIONS.COM
Wow!!! Thanks everyone for the great advice!! I called back the rep at USG and talked to someone who stated I got some bad advice when I first called them. Seems you CAN use regular Durock on exterior applications...the only difference being the size of the fiberglass mesh is larger on exterior panels( the mix is exactly the same)....and no problems about freezing!! This is a GREAT site!!!
Try picking up a panel of Durorock and a panel of Wonderboard.....36 x 60......The Wonderboard is soooooo much heavier for whatever thats worth.
