Exterior Porch Finish Help

Need some advice from all you finish experts. Have exterior porch ceilings on a house built in 1949 with ?x2 or ?x1-1/2″ tongue&groove boards that are in need of refinishing. I cannot tell what the finsh is or what I need to do to refinsh. Please Help!
