I’ve wrapped my 1980’s ranch house in 2″ rigid foam as part of a deep energy retrofit. Now it’s time for new siding and trim, and I’d like to improve the look of the house by using more wider, more substantial trim. (Previously, the house was just vinyl sided.) Can anyone recommend a book or an article that would help me size cornerboards, skirts boards, window trim, frieze board, etc, so that they look good together and work well on the house? (I’ll attach a photo.)
Thanks, –Brian Abbott

I would look for a house with trim that I like, take a picture of it, and copy it on my house.
second get your house right.
I always bring the book to meetings when I have been called to fix rotting exterior trim, (10 years old wood) to show clients what is right and what I am going to change... justifies why it is going to cost so much!!!
Just ordered a copy of "Get Your House Right." Looks like a great book. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. --Brian
