Have seen lots of post here about the EZ Smart Guide – Don’t know that I have heard any mention of the table.
To me the table is as much of a help as the guide itself. In fact it would have been just as useful in the past when I was using shooter boards. This thing is so quick and easy to set up and just makes life easy. Don’t have to spend time setting up horses and sacrifical 2x4s and hope I get enough there to support the sheet and yet keep them out of the way of the clamps.
I also use it for a table for screwing together face frames that I have set up with pocket holes – give good support of the frame and leaves me room for my vise grip clamp.
I was using my table today and happened to have the camera with. I am so pleased with the way this thing works I decided to take some pics and post here. All I got from Eurekazone was the plastic rails and guides (and screws that come with) – added my plywood, legs, and some one bys and have a much used piece of equiptment that really doesn’t take up much room in the van.
Anyone else using the table? I think it rocks!

I like the guide. My only complaint is that the pc 7 1/4 wont cut 2* or exterior doors. I am following Kevin's quest , perhaps to the 8 1/4 saw? The table is great. I got the leg set from Dino. They will not fold flat on a 24 by 48 ply (room is premium in my van) so I have set the rails up on a plastic costco table. Its not very esthetic but it gets the job done well. I agree Shoe, its make the guide a much better tool than it already is. Paul
Paul.
If you only cut thick doors few times a year, slide off the edge and use the guide as an edge guide but in this case you can use the ac-1 (flat insert) for antichip protection. You will gain the depth to cut 1-3/4" materials.
But if you trim doors every other day I can get the Bosch for you. 8-1/4 (open box-return-recondition with full guarantee for $135.00 but you have to wait 2-3 weeks. I got the last one today from the Bosch store in NJ.
Send me an email and I will send you 3 more bottom tracks and the hardware.
All new table kits starting next week they will have 6 bottom tracks.
Hey Dino-
what are ya doing, buying out all the 8-1/4 Bosch's?
every time I'm over at the Bosch place, they're sold out!
BTW, I'm looking forward to seeing you at your new place that 1st Sat. in April
Shep.
What price they give you?
Haven't bought one yet- they've been out when I've been there.
Last time ( a few weeks ago ) there was a 7-1/4" saw on the rack where the 8-1/4" should be. Almost goofed and bought that one.
So. You got my table.
Nice pictures. Nice legs too. But the legs are too narrow on the top.
You may want to screw some 1x3 all the way around the plywood to keep it straight. If you use folding banquet legs you have wider support in the top and you don't need to "frame" the plywood. If you can get some L shape aluminum instead 1x3s it will look even better.
But 'your" legs look better. Can you give me a hind about the holes?
If you stop over Sat. you can get 3 more bottom tracks and you can use them side by side with the other 3 bottom tracks so you don't have to remove the top 3 top when the table is not in use.And the same time you have 3 more supports when the table is in closed position.
One day I have to stop complaining.
YCFriend, the table is great!
I bought some banquet table legs to make the table but, as Paul mentioned, they didn't fold flat. I had the rugged buddy legs in the garage that I had purchased for something else several months ago, and decided to just use those and return the banquet legs. My plan was to throw together a table to use that day and make my ideal one down the line when I have time.
I thought about putting some one bys on the bottom of the table for support, but as I just mentioned - I plan on making a better table down the line, and the piece of plywood I made this one out of has like 11 plys and stays very straight - good enough for now.
The holes are simply to make the table easier to move around. I had the hole saw chucked up in the drill and walked by the table as I was going back to the van to put it away. Drilled a hole for a handle to carry the table. Got a little carried away myself I guess. Think at the time I had a reason for a couple of the other ones too, but, can't think of it now - guess I just wanted my table to look like the sawhorses Blue posted pics of a while back. Anyway, the holes make for grab points when moving the table in the van or around the site.
Don't think I will be able to "stop over Saturday" and pick up a few more bottom tracks. Not that I don't think a few more base tracks would be very handy to store the boards, but, I looked at your profile - you are in NJ - I am in MN - a bit far for a drop by.
Gotta say again how much I like this table. Like I say, not just for the guide, but for other cutting and especially for frame assembly with pocket holes.
Good job shoeman.
This is one of the things that we all made in each and every job.
The first slogan for the smart table kit was:
leave the horses to the cowboys.
Only one lady saw that on a trade show and actually told her husband: Take it. buy it. I like that.
Dude..yer house is leaning to starboard.

YC-
I was reasearching your table thru google this morning and none of your own sites for EZ were working right or wouldn't open at all.
The other tool sale sites selling the ez system were working normal but just your own weren't opening right.
Is it my computer on this end or are you having trouble at your sites?
no, I have not been drinking Ouzo

Thanks Razz.
I check them out and they work ok.
Is your computer drink ouzo? hey,you never know.
So that's where the bottle went.
be I was wondering
Razz. The site was down. Server crash. It's back up now.
I know what the problem is. Stop looking at the Fiat.
Thanks Razz.

Hi Mike.
We're moving this days and is getting harder every day.
But i promise to have 3-4 booths there next year.
JLC is the place to be. Nice show and very knowledgeable demonstrators there.
Thanks Mike.
Dino,
Used the EZ to cut cabinet sides and then set up the EZ router guide for rabbets and dados. It was slick and safer then using only a straight edge.
Mark
Thanks Mark.
Just have your credit card ready for the new EZ stuff.
And send some pictures. You guys use my tools and have all the fun while I'm stuck behind a screen. At least send us some pictures for the site.
Eureka.. no pictures,no more ez stuff. how is that for an official CO policy?
Mark. Do you like to throw away your tape measure? have repeatability on the keep and even (call by others) the waste side of the cut? Perfect square panels and perfect edging the same time?
Send some pictures.
And that goes for all.
Thanks Mark.
And still YCF Dino
Mike, you wanting to pick up one of those tables?
I reccommend, like I say, not just for the EZguide, but for pocket hole work on face frames and such.
shoe.. i was trying to lure dino back to la prov.. figgered i could score a show discount at JLC..
oh, well... i'll just have to entertain myself some other way
