Been a great truck. but time for a new battery- the positive cable clamp, in all Ford”s wisdom is held on by a really small (maybe 5/16 size bold head) bolt that goes thru into the threaded part on the other side of the clamp. Moms Toyota has a big all by itself bolt. .
the flats on the F150 bolt head are wrung off. vice grips did not move it.
we are letting it soak a few days with PB Blaster.
Any thing else to try?
Would a littl;e heat from a propane torch maybe 15 seconds worth break the corrosion loose?

Any kind of flame around a battery is a REALLY bad idea.
How about replacing the cable when you replace the battery?
true about the flame tho seems you could cover the battery top then use fan on it to blow fumes awaay.
you must be a gambling man..

Batteries only generate hydrogen when being charged.
MikeInsert initially amusing but ultimately annoying catch phrase here.
an open flame around that battery you and other things will get ugly..
grab the clamp with channel locks an delibertly work the clamp on the post back and forth with an upward motion..
the post has a slight taper to it and will work loose..
don't wrench hard enough to rip the post out of the battery..

That used to be a 8mm bolt. use a drimel to cut a slot in it for a big screw driver or use the drimel to cut the bolt head off. new clamps can be a pain to attach and stop corroding. New cable might be better.
have you ever blew up a battery before. Its like a stick of dynamite with acid going everywhere
actually after my years with an F-150 the clamp may be the only part still holding together...
keep the clamp and get a new truck!!!

My son in law fixed it- it was his truck- he was in a hurry- went to Ford dealer. they also found power steering pump failing/getting ready to fail.
two new cables, air filter, ps pump labor = US$700+
You don't want to use flame near a battery. Those little bubbles that come to the top when it's charging are hydrogen.
buy a terminal clamp remover, similar to a wheel puller but for battery clamps, or follow IMERG's advice, which is the best so far.
