Hi all. New situation for me. I am building a new home for clients. Has brick exterior. On two of the north outside corners of the house, the brick is holding moisture, visable from the street. Last week we had a long steady rain. We do not have gutters til next week. The two corners that are holding water are walls that extend into second story walls with intersecting roofs, so when it rains, the water runs down the face of the brick. Here is the problem, it appears to be leaching to the interior walls, as after the rain, we had water on the subfloor that had ran from behind the wall. Have any of you had this happen? I, as well as my roofer was on the roof today. It is flashed tight, can not see where water would be penetrating there.
If it is not taken care of when I put my gutters on, any recommendation? I don’t usually seal my brick, and this particular brick would probably not look good with any kind of sheen.
Recommendations greatly appreciated.
Peggy
