Failure rates on laminated glass windows
How often do you see laminated glass windows fail? By that, I mean become humidity soaked/wet and delaminate the glass from the PVB layer in the middle? Can you use the stuff in a bathroom window, given average expectability on the bathroom fan ventilation, without fearing it will delaminate and fall apart within a year or two?
Has anyone actually seen the glass fail? Or is this only a theoretical possibility?
Thanks

This is almost a "bump" to get your question back near the top, but...automobile glass is laminated and it puts up with a lot of moisture and so on and seldom fails.
"but...automobile glass is laminated and it puts up with a lot of moisture and so on and seldom fails."Just a clarification. That is for windshields (and maybe back windows). Door windows are tempered.
The only time I have seen such windows fail is when they were subjected to blows hard enough not to make the window crack but hard enough to break the vacuum/seal between the panes. Then the windows would start to discolor (white mist) in blotches that appeared and moved randomnly.
The thermopane windows that were not subjected to abuse lasted for our entire stay in that apartment w/o any issues, whether they were installed in a bathroom, kitchen, or other type of room.
