I don't know if it's neat but I bought 2 Nailers 2533-u Fall Protection Compliance Kits from Amazon.(wish I knew how to make a link) I bought them from for 140.00 each kit.(best price I could find) They work great and really help w/ the confidence while working on a roof. These kits have a harness, 6' lanyard, 1way ascender, 50' of 1/2" or 5/8" line and a reusable roof peak anchor plate. All the rope ends are nicely coated in a plastic protective shield and the kit comes in a soft sided duffel/carry bag so it only takes up the space it needs to instead of a 5 gal bucket.
Here's my edit with my attempt at creating a link to the item I've described:

Thanks, i be a google-ling that. I got a feeling we hit the pay dirt there.
to post a link c/p from the website and include that in the message...if ya add the http://www.fillintheblank.com it fits here well.the www is the key. if you copy a link and "saveAs" and paste it as a "link" you can title it as "look here" and it will display as a link to the shortcut.
clear as mud yet?

The only unusual thing I did was to get a second rope grab and strap, which I keep on the back of the harness. The purpose is that I can, in an emergency, put the second grab onto the line, put a foot into its strap, and inchworm my way up or down. I practiced this self-rescue technique, but never had to use it for real.

I saw that on TV....won't fly for OSHA.

If I understand, you are wondering if anyone makes or has adapted tool bags to the fall harness.
I've got the same question. I think the answer is yes - sort of.
Next time I can corral a tower guy in full rig, I will try to see how he is rigged up and get some pix. They do have bags but their job is more mechanical assembly and running cable vs. roofing. I saw some roped buckets on their rigs. Many clips and thingies.
However, similar needs should produce similar responses. I would assume you can hang framer or other bags off the waist belt portion of the harness.

Speaking of roofing -
What about those magnetic hammers? Saw a guy setting tin caps with one.
It looked very productive. Who sells them?

I use copper roofing nails. Show me that magnet, I'llbuy all of them.

look at the yates special ops full body harness. now that's a rig.Amateurs talk strategy, Generals talk logistics.
Have you got a link or a supplier for the Yates? I'd love to see them.
Thanks much
I got mine from:

they're at yatesgear.com but the harness i mentioned seems to only be listed in the .pdf catalogue, not the browsable website product listings. i haven't used this model, but generally the yates harnesses i have used have been excellentAmateurs talk strategy, Generals talk logistics.
Thank you both.I'm going to search for them.
If it is an integrated harness/tool belt that your looking for, you could look at this:
http://www.millerfallprotection.com/miller/pdf_folder/Revolution_Brochure.pdf
(first time trying a link - hope that worked)
The new harness has attachment points for a variety of accessories.
I spend a lot of time hanging off the sides of buildings to do various inspections/observations, conditions surveys, etc and usually have to carry note pads, camera, misc. hand tools, etc. so I will occassionally wear a toolbelt over the harness. That can still be a bit cumbersome - especially in the winter when you add the winter coat...
Last I looked, the prices for the Revolution harness and acessories seem a bit steep, but it may be worth the splurge if youy're going to spend a lot of time in the air with your tools - I haven't yet puled the trigger but I'm thinking about it.
That is cool...I see a disappearing paycheck right soon. Thanks.
I am probably looking to sell my oxy's harness set up now.

Be sure to to check in with a quick review or maybe some pix. I might just have to splurge a little too. Good Luck
Only a wild guess, but I expect to pay about 400 or so, cuz the bags I want will be xtra. My buddy is getting the selfwinding cable for 650.
But all in all, a few days pay is better than a huge fine or worse.
I actually like being tetherd, but if it is a hassel or just a quick job we forgo it. Not anymore.
