Has anyone used Fantech fans for bathroom ventilation? I’ve read that you can ventilate two bathrooms with the unit in the attic, very quiet they say.
Are there any opinions out there?
Thanks
Roy

There are a number of ways to achieve a level foundation and mudsill.

We run them on metal duct, with the fan connected to the duct with Fernco fittings to reduce vibration. The metal duct terminates in a square box, usually a 6x6, with either a side or top outlet and a commercial 4 way Hart and Cooley grille. We try to mount the fan as far from the baths as possible, but this isn't that important because the air movement through the grille is noisier than the fan itself. We generally size about 1 cfm per sq. ft. of floor space. One fan for two baths is no problem, we like to put them on timers, one for each bath, wired in parallel. Once you try one, you'll never go back to a Nutone. These things will suck your hat off.

You wear your hat in the bathroom?
"You wear your hat in the bathroom?"
I only take my hat off for one thing..............
(And not to danged often, either)Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime. Unless he doesn't like sushi - then you also have to teach him to cook.
You and Randy Newman, huh?
Actually, I was thinking of Burt Reynolds in "Smokey and the Bandit". We should all help stamp out, eliminate abolish, and otherwise avoid redundancy.
Very Good Product and easy to install. They are not cheap but work very well. Try the following web site for good information.

I have no connection with these folks, other than they have been a good supplier of Fantech items for me. They are CA but ship factory direct to you. I get items in less than a week. Lower cost even with shipping than local supply here in western NC.

Beautiful things. I have a client who hates noise. He was the first I tried them on. He loved them.
Then i usaed them in another house. After living there for three months, they had me back in for a punch list review. Top of the l;ist was, "Bathroom fan doesn't work"
So we walked up there and I asked them to turn it on whiole I stood on a chair near the vent. I could vaguely imagine that I heard it run but iknew it was working because i could see little duist specks heading that way. I tokk out a dollar bill and held it about an inchaway from the duct and it floated right up in front of their eyes, which popped right out of their heads. I left the dollar up there, walked over to the switch, and asked them why they thought it didn't work. Almost speechless, they said that it was because they couldn't hear it. Then I turned the switch off and watched the dollar drift back down. The rest of the list was low priority after that show.
That's the problem with modern stuff, it works so well, you have to prove it! I've done some Asko dishwashers too and had customers tell me that it is so quiet, they have to keep peeking inside to be sure that it's actually working. Makes me think of someone who opens the refer door to be sure the light is out.

Excellence is its own reward!
Hey,
If it's not a prob, what about using Fantech as a whole house ventilation/ fresh air intake for a very air tight house? I suppose a timer or other automated device could insure proper air exchange through the course of the day. I'd appreciate any input.
Thanks......Kman
