Getting ready to make firewood I discovered the bar wasn’t getting lubed, but I had oil dripping out of the saw.
I had the problem once before and it took some time to figure out what was wrong, somehow the lube hose was plugged, not the problem this time though, since the line had somehow come off under the drive sprocket.
anyway if you have a Stihl Farm Boss 029, this is what you have to do.
Take the handle bar off of the saw (7 screws) because the lube hose is located underneath the handle, gently pull the hose out of the resevoir, using the spark plug tool to coax it out and re-attach the hose to the tube located under drive sprocket, it’s just visible if you remove the sprocket as well,
then push the fat end with the oil pickup back into the oil resevoir, it’s a little tricky, so you may end up like me doing it again and again, .. . . . and make sure the hose goes all the way onto the tube under the sprocket, you can tell by the fat end of the hose being flush with the saw housing !!!
the whole thing should only take about ten minutes instead of the hur I spent tryting to remember what I did the last time. It’s also a good time to grease the needle bearings for the drive sprocket
which will get lost in the grass 🙂

So why did it get clogged?
That's my new saw... well 10 years ago it was new cause I lent my 041 that I'd had for 25yrs to a yahoo hoo forked it up, and fixed it so the gas tank kept falling off.

yer a good man, Snort, lending out your chainsaw. That takes balls.
never did find much gunk, I suspect it was from running the saw dull too many times, and the air intake is just litty bitty hole behind the bar, it's the shiny button next to the lube gallery and it's the culprit if you don't get oil coming out somewhere .. I did find out what happens when you use compressed air from the tank side to clear out the little bitty hole...it evacuates ALL the oil and also blows off that hose under the sprocket.

oh yeah , you're my hero loaning out your saw, my wife let a neighbor borrow my backpack sprayer once, but he didn't like the way it ran, so he took it to "his" guy in town, gave it back to her with a can of gas. and bitched about wasting his timeMy wife filled up her blower and kablooey, there was no oil in the gas!.
