I would like to add mirrored glass panes to a french door. What is the best way to fasten the mirrors to the glass panes of the door? Silcone? Double sided tape? Other?
Thanks

gacracker ... is that the same as a redneck?
So the french door is currently what ... a 10 or 15 lite door? And you want mirrors in place of one or more lites? If you put a mirror on one side only, then you're gonna see the back side of the silvering.
You could use a thin bead of silicone, or high-dollar double stick tape. But why not pull the stops off and just replace the glass? Is this an exterior door?
Kinda curious why you want to do this.

Actually I'm a Damm Yankee that lives in GA but since I've been here so long....I have an interior door between the master bath and beroon that has a 10 lite french door. I wanted to mirror both sides and the glass is individual panes. I had mirrors cut to fit on top of the panes but I read somewhere that silicone wont cure unless exposed to air. Not sure if this is true.
Typical Yankee trying to improve on a Southern thing. The glass door is there so you can sneak a peak.
Why not taike the door off the hinges, lay it flat on sawhorses. Lay the mirrors into the openings without anythin on the back. Then run a bead of caulk (not silicone) around the perimeter of the mirror panes. You couold use a colored caulk if the door is stained, or a white caulk and paint to match when it's dry.

there is such a thing as mirror adhesive.
from what I remember you aren't supposed to use silicone to fix mirrors as it eats the silvering on the back.
Mirror adhesive has held my 18 square foot bathroom on the wall fine for the last 3 years so should work a treat.
