A new Hudson Reed kitchen faucet with two sep. levers feeding into one gooseneck faucet. The cold works just fine. The hot, however, sprays out erratically in streams, etc. splashing all over. It is weird because both come through the same faucet. Any ideas? Thanks.

A. Is this a new installation?
If it is, then there may be some flux, solder or other debris cought in the valve. You might have some air pockets in the hot water line which need to be flushed out. Just let the water run in the hot water line for a minute. Do this at a few other locations in the house.
B. Is this a cartridge valve or a washer type valve.
Loose or worn washer. Dirty cartridge.
Do you have any other Hudson Reed fixtures? I saw them about 8 months ago on the web and the prices looked incredable! Very low. How about a mini review?

Thanks, Hudson-Reed has responded by sending out a completely new faucet. Their stuff is awesome. We have the traditional exposed valve shower. Approx $500 incl. shipping from the UK! Compares absolutely to Waterworks brand, which you can't touch for under $2K. Only issue is that your plumber needs to be aware that some valve fitments must be swapped out. Also, our shower valve arrived w/ hot and cold reversed, which took a couple calls to the UK to sort out. Other than that, I don't see how they can stay in business with the low prices. Must be cheap ale prices.
Gotta love it. I am in the design process with a client now and wanting to use HR. Unbelievable prices for great design. Thanks for the reply.FrankieThere he goes—one of God's own prototypes—a high powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Another thing you may want to look for are small particles of sand in your valve assembly.
Water is usually run through sandbeds as part of the treatment process, and if these are improperly prepared, they can shed some sand into the water. I took my shower head off a couple of months ago, and the spray nozzles were almost completely clogged with sand. A little backflush, and it was working as good as a ten dollar shower head can be expected to.
