Recently installed a new Delta Kitchen faucet and found something odd with the sprayer head line. The line connects to the faucet base with a two piece plastic connector. Two plastic halves held together with a spring clip.
It seems to clip together and seal but how CHEAP can they get. If this metal clip bends or snaps off you fill the base cabinet with water.
Have you seen this? Or am I missing a part to this faucet?

Not knock your choice of faucets but Delta is a pretty low end faucet. But to be fair I've worked on the cheapest ones. I have a few in this house and plan to upgrade.
My daughter complained about the kitchen one leaking and i said we will replace it.
I'm not wasting my time on it. I was the maintenance guy in an apartment full of them. Some of them I could not get to work right after many tries and practice.
I'd like to spend more up front and have something that will last longer, work better, and look better.
customer requested Delta and I was replacing an older one that was out of style...I guess.
The original faucet had a standard swivel connector at the sprayer line.
I have had luck with Delta, Moen and Grohe.
I think a lot of it is that I'm just sick of the low end Deltas. I went into that job following years of neglect and incompetence by the maintenance guys before me.
And the managment that alowed it to happen.
I have to replace my kitchen faucet soon. Which brand(s) would you say are solid?
Delta USED to be a good choice....but I'm not a plumber up to date.
I can't say. i haven't done the reseach yet. Maybe someone here can say?
How much do you want to spend?
& what style do you prefer, single handle, pull out head etc..........
Single handle pull out. Eventually the sink & counters are gonna be replaced (next 3-4 years?), so I don't wanna go whole hog price wise.
Up to maybe $100-$150?
I'm assuming I can get something for that.
I might have what you're looking for in my stock, might take a couple of days for me to figure out what I have.
I'll let ya know.
It's a single hole. Lemme know and thanks.

Just because they want to make it personal,
doesn't mean you have to take it personal.
I installed a Moen "pull out" and it had a similar fitting.
I think that it is to make them more DIY friendly.

If I'm not mistaken, the feature to which you refer has been in the Delta line for about 5 years.
Just the other day, I was thinking that despite trying to make everything cheaper, they really have improved their finishes to be much more tarnish proof
As the other Bill said "DIY friendly" & yes they are cheaper than they used to be.
Delta & Moen used to be good choices, but they have gone down hill in recent years.
Both of them do make higher end products, but IMO the extra cost does not mean better stuff.
I bought the same type faucet recently. Doesnt inspire alot of confidence, does it?
Family.....They're always there when they need you.
Higher end Kohler faucets have a similar clip-in system.
We still use Delta all the time and like them. There is a difference in quality from what we get at the supply house vs big box stuff.

Suppose a relatively short coma. Replaced maybe 12 faucets this century. The last kitchen faucet was last year for DW. This was a high end faucet and had nothing cheap about it.
Just don't like the idea of a $.03 metal clip making the difference between flooding out the base cabinet or not.
Sad news. Everything is made as if "disposable" and then you get bitched at because the landfills are too full. Used a Peerless Lever for years, picked up a little rebuild kit when it leaked and was good to go for years.
Son was with me last time(disposable mentality) and convinced me that I should go with something totally new. So proud it has no name.
Spray lasted one maybe two years. Now you turn it on and get blasted with water.
So I (stupidly) take it apart looking for a washer or...... to replace.
Doesn't exist. Soak in warm water..nothing. Disposable again.
Should ship it to Obama in care of the EPA but....Now that ceramic (in place of rubber) faucet is fine...if you get past the peeling finish. Speaking of rubber--wipers that is. Wonder what that stuff is now. Doesn't last long--12 months if it never sees a ray of sunshine.Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many; the intelligence of a few perceives what has been carefully hidden.... The thing I can't understand. Why do they even include a soap dispenser with these faucets. Everyone of them corrodes from the liquid soap you put in them. Unless you want to soak them in hot water every month and then the cheap pump (same on a Windex bottle) craps out.
Get me started on Windsheild wipers... Kid behind the counter can't understand what a replacement blade is. Says buy the whole units, it's only a buck more. Trick is I find the replacement blades do last longer.
Recently replaced a single handle Moen pull-out with a Grohe Ladylux Plus single handle pullout. Huge difference and well worth the money. spend the money now and reuse it when you re-do your counters. You won't be sorry.
