Jerry, you seem like a nice guy, but your spelling sucks. I
wouldn't trust any of these guys with advice on painting a
handrail, either. Ecxept maybe Mr. Fusco, he has a reelly purty
websitey. Looks handpainted too me.
*Wow, your right Nathan, usually I am not so careless. I was actually on the phone in a conversation when I made that post but in this age of spell checkers that’s no real excuse. Well, you never know where a new bit of information will come from so that’s why I ask; we’ll see what happens I guess.
*I recently picked up some literature at a home show for A&C Distributors. 800-995-9946. They make or distribute liquid metal coatings and patina systems. Their literature says that the coatings are water based acrilics with ground metal in suspension. I have not used any of their products so I don't have any first hand experience, but it could be worth a try.
*Instead of paint, which can wear or scrape off rather easily, check with a local plating shop. They can do chrome, nickel, copper, etc.I've seen portable platers, too. They gold-plate trim and accents on cars.
*Jerrald, looks like you may find some good info here concerning this. I did a search on excite and came up with a site dedicated to metal finishing, http://www.finishing.com. Looked promising with a casual glance
