Does anyone else remember seing a comparison of the Fein Multimaster tool against a bunch of competitors? I thought it was in FHB or FWW, but can’t find the article. Thanks for any pointers to where it was.

I don't think that there is an thing comparable to the MM except for Proxman (sp?) unit and it is much smaller and designed more for model work.
The only kind of comparision that I think could be done on the MM is strictly as a detailed sander.
.
A-holes. Hey every group has to have one. And I have been elected to be the one. I should make that my tagline.
A Dremel can be used for some MM tasks as well.

Actually, Bosch has one on the European market since about one month:

I have seen a comparison of a few of the detail sander competitors, but they were compared as detail sanders. If I remember it correctly, the Fein was considered the best tool, even though they didn´t consider the special features of the MM. I found it with Google. It could have been Popular Mechanics.
Wow. Bosch's version of the Multimaster! Bosch even calls it the 'Multi'. I am very curious if the arbor size is compatible with the MM. Maybe the blades, etc. would be a better deal than the Fein OEM's.
Let me know if you find out!I did discover that the blades for the bigger (Maxi-?)Fein tool fit the MM, using the optional larger washer.
http://www.coastaltool.com for pricing on MM blades been payin $40 t0 45 each for wood cutting blades at other places, 3 pack at coastal for $69., or $23. ea.
thatsa twofer sale, works for me
Sounds good to me, too. Thanks!
Preis: € 99,99* So what is that americana?

1000 euro I think. Well into the Brazillions of Dollars..LOL
100 Euros (the comma is interchanged with the period in most European conventions for numbering). That's maybe $120 right now.

I had a customer go to Italy, right about 9/11...we had a problem with a stock payment ( he was drawing from an investment acct to pay me), so upon his return, he dumped 1250.00$ in euro on me...
At first I was like WTF? then I stuck it away, somewhere..I still have it..just don't know where I put it.
Luckily he and I were great buds, or else I woulda been a little peeved..LOL
Try again: The Euro is up from $0.80 or so several years back to $1.37. That's better than the stock market.

Maybe it was just a comparison of the different tools from Fein that are similar to the MM? I know they make bigger versions for more specialized stuff.
Finally, the Bosch version of the Multimaster can be found in stores in Sweden. The blades are compatible with the old Multimaster with the 10 mm arbor, but not with the new Multimaster. The Bosch blades are about half the price of the Fein blades.

And where do you find them?

Well of course you are, no shortage of them in southern Minnesota now is there!
BTW, I just came back from a few days up there in the Root River area, had a lot of fun until the rains hit and I headed back across the boarder. My son starts school tomorrow and I wanted to take him camping/biking/canoeing before the big day. Weather couldn't have been any better. I hadn't been up there in about 6 or 7 years, still a nice getaway.

Yeah, the Root River area is nice -- when it's not raining.
