Fibercement siding and Housewraps.
Reading the latest Fine Homebuilding article on housewraps made sense to me. It seems though the sense I made of it might be misguided. Did I understand it right? Using tyvek or equal behind tight siding installations such as hardiplank, fibercement or t-111 is defeating the purpose? Makes sense as it is a grid style and water that sits there will make its way in. So is it recommended to use a vertical grid style like what’s recommended to go on stucco apps?
Seems to me the product has come before the science in the housewrap industry as there are no standardized tests.
Anyone know where to find a definitive answer or have one?

Busy,
I think tight siding applications are defeating the purpose.
Siding is weather armor, it's just supposed to blunt weather so the waterproof housewrapping system can deal with it. The system needs its' space.
