I’m installing a direct vent gas firplace insert and the manufacturer recommends insulation in the flue above the insert. The air intake is a separate 3″ flex pipe so the insulation is just to keep cold air out of the room. Is it o.k. to just stuff fiberglass(unfaced of course) up there?
Thanks. –Steve

in a word..yup.
There's high-temp fiberglass insulation if belt-and-suspenders is your type of thing.
