I have a fiberglass extension ladder that has been on top of my truck for a few years… maybe more than a few. The finish has worn away and using it now means a lot of fiberglass in the forearms…. and I really hate that.
What is a good way to refinish the ladder? A few coats of a clear sealant/finish… sand between coats to get rid of erect fibers?
Am I just better off to buy a new ladder? lol

just take it back to lowes/ homedepot and say... look at what my ladder is doing... you guys need to replace this...
hey... maybe one of them will ladders are a weird thing... i was told that most large dealers of ladders all but never refuse to take back a damaged ladder for fear that if they refuse... and you go use it and get hurt... it comes back (or could) on them...
i don't know that to be fact.... but it wouldn't surprise me
:)p
No HD ladder here. Got from the local ladder, toolbox and rack supplier. I am sure it is out of warrantee by now... and I think that HD would be easier to get a refund or exchange from.

Yeah if you shellac your forearms it cuts down on the fiberglass fuzzies stabbing them.I think I would just paint the ladder with safety yellow (or orange or red) paint.

Yup.
Try pages 3,4,& 5.
Thanks. I didn't realize humidity played such a larger ole in aging a FG ladder. Always assumed it was more the UV.
